Angie Zara, MA
I’m Angie Zara, a trauma focused therapist with a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School in Downtown Chicago. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds as they navigate challenges such as trauma, substance use, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and grief.
My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. I take a strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy—helping individuals tap into their inner resources, build self-esteem, and move toward meaningful change. I believe in meeting people where they are and honoring their unique goals and pace in the therapeutic process.
My approach draws from evidence-based and integrative methods, including relational trauma therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and existential frameworks. I work from a harm reduction perspective, supporting clients as they confront life’s challenges and heal from past traumas in a way that feels safe and sustainable. Every therapeutic relationship is tailored to the individual, with the goal of creating a supportive, empowering space for growth and self-discovery.
